FAQ

We need a new work and/or storage space location ASAP

Our space requirements are:

  • We have to be out of our current space very soon
  • The room needs to be lockable at all times
  • The location needs to be in Westchester County, NY, preferably Lower Westchester, and preferably in the White Plains area
  • The room cannot be used by anyone else while we aren't there as we are storing equipment in the room
  • We MIGHT be able to pay a nominal fee for rent but not market value (we have a limited budget as a nonprofit)
  • About 700 sqft would be IDEAL for work space, we have about 200 sqft now, which makes it convoluted to work and store equipment
  • About 150 sqft or more would be ideal if the space provided is to be used for storage only
  • Preferably with elevator access and a ramp access for heavy equipment on a cart
  • Our volunteers are not attracted to work in a small space (in spite of COVID vaccines). We used to have 10-12 people every week before COVID, now 3 or 4 at best
  • Electricity, internet (we can pay if need be), and heat should be provided. We have a window AC unit, if needed
  • We have refurbished and donated 1500+ computers since we started Westchester PC-Renew in 2004
  • That's 1500+ computers which did not go to electronic waste, and were instead put to good use
  • We offer a community service that provides computers for veterans, needy adults and young children, who cannot afford a computer.

If you think you can help or need additional information, please send an email to Webmaster@TechEdConnect.org and provide a phone number where you can be reached. Thank you for your anticipated assistance.

How to apply for a computer

Since 2004, Westchester PC-Renew  has provided a free computer to Nonprofits, Veterans, and low-income Americans. It was founded to ensure that all Americans, regardless of income, have  access to the security and opportunity. This includes being able to look for jobs, access emergency services, go to school, and much more. We have helped thousands of applicants.
