Holographic Art—Past, Present and Future
Holographic Art may seem a medium of the past but the reality is that it never went away. With the emergence of new recording materials (including techniques that employ digital printing as well as emerging digital holographic displays) we are on the threshold of a new era of holographic imagery.
Holograms are fully 3-dimensional images that can be seen without any special headsets or glasses. This holographic medium of light has evolved from an optical form with demanding requirements for stability using specialized equipment into a number of directions that are now making it more accessible for individuals to create them and more available to the public.
This talk is an opportunity to learn about the extraordinary art that has evolved over the past 60 years and the new directions it is beginning to take.
